More than Just Lessons
Lessons with a knowledgeable teacher are essential for singers to make connections in their own Body. Our teachers are experienced performers who are also effective voice technicians: they hear what is misaligned and communicate it in the simplest possible way to help growing singers experience ease and comfort while reaching their goals. The changes that happen in lessons can be transformative, but sometimes students struggle to replicate these changes on their own. Because of this disconnect, we know that smart singers need more– Lessons become even more powerful when amplified by on-demand coaching to check in with your teacher between sessions, a learning library for guided practice and reading, and performance opportunities to show off and solidify what you’ve learned.
Connecting the Dots
If you’ve ever bought an online course and tried to work through it without teacher support, you may know all too well how important a trusted sounding board can be. Reading about voice theory is great, but knowledge doesn’t always translate into action. The same is true with singing well on your own versus performing well publicly. Singing with your teacher in lessons is a wonderful first step toward singing successfully for others, but performing is an altogether different experience physiologically– physical changes occur with nerves or exhilaration. No matter what your emotional state is regarding performing, you’re likely to notice differences that can only be overcome with practice and repetition. This is why opportunities to share what you’re working on are built into our learning system via Coaching and Events. Receive on-demand feedback on full performances from a trusted teacher, or share a performance in a Cardon Community event to bond with and receive inspiration from your peers.
