How Video Coaching Works
Video Coaching is simple, fexible, and effective, giving you access to expert feedback whenever you need it. Here’s how it works:
Step 1:
Record Your Video
Using your student account, record yourself singing—a full song, a challenging section, or even an exercise you want feedback on. You can record directly in the platform or upload a video that you have created.
Step 2:
Submit for Review
Add any questions you want your teacher to address, then submit your video. Want feedback on a specific phrase? Wondering if your breath support sounds right? Include those details to guide your teacher’s response.
Step 3:
Receive Feedback
Within 48 hours, your teacher sends you a response video. They’ll demonstrate what they’re hearing, show you corrections or alternatives, and give you specific and personalized guidance for improvement.
Step 4:
Apply and Practice
Use your teacher’s feedback in practice. Then, if you want, submit another video to show progress or work on the next challenge. This cycle of perform-feedback-practice creates continuous improvement.
Guidance Every Step of the Way
Take the Guesswork Out of Performing
Video Coaching gives you the chance to bring your teacher into your gig or band rehearsal—simply record and upload later for feedback. Facing a specific challenge? Let us see it so we can help troubleshoot. Want to know if your performance is hitting the mark? We’re happy to advise and support you with practice tools and suggestions.
When Video Coaching Helps Most:
- Preparing for a performance: Get feedback on your prepared pieces before the big day
- Working through a difficult passage: Show your teacher exactly where you’re struggling
- Checking your technique: Verify you’re practicing exercises correctly between lessons
- Recording projects: Get input on takes before finalizing recordings
- Real-world application: Show how techniques work (or don’t) in your actual performing context
Many students find that Video Coaching accelerates their progress significantly. Instead of waiting for their weekly lesson to address a question, they get answers quickly and can adjust their practice immediately.

What You’ll Learn
Perfect for Busy Schedules
Expert Input That Works Around Your Life
We know our students are busy. Many are working professionals with demanding schedules. Others are juggling school, family, and multiple commitments. Video Coaching was designed with these realities in mind.
Submit Anytime: Record and upload your video whenever it works for you—early morning, late night, weekends. No scheduling required.
Get Feedback Within 48 Hours: Quick turnaround means you can act on feedback while it’s still relevant.
Work at Your Own Pace: Submit as often or as little as your schedule allows. Some students use Coaching weekly; others save it for when they really need expert eyes.
No Scheduling Conflicts: Unlike live lessons, Video Coaching doesn’t require finding matching availability. This flexibility is especially valuable when preparing for time-sensitive performances.
Video Coaching vs. Live Lessons
Learn the difference between our complementary learning experiences. Video Coaching and Live Lessons serve different purposes: both are valuable, and together they create a comprehensive learning experience. Many students use live lessons for their core instruction and Video Coaching to supplement; getting feedback between lessons, polishing performance pieces, or working through specific challenges as they arise.
Live Lessons Are Best For:
- Real-time interaction and immediate adjustment
- Complex technique development requiring back-and-forth
- Introducing new concepts and exercises
- Building rapport with your teacher
- Working through new material together
Video Coaching Is Best For:
- Performance review and polish
- Checking technique between lessons
- Getting feedback on real-world singing situations
- Quick questions that don’t need a full lesson
- Maintaining momentum during busy periods
The Coaching Process in Detail
What Happens After You Submit:
When you submit a video for coaching, here’s what your teacher does:
Careful Review: Your teacher watches your submission multiple times, listening for both technical elements and artistic choices.
Targeted Analysis: Based on your notes and what they observe, your teacher identifies the most important areas to address—usually 2-3 key points rather than overwhelming you with every possible comment.
Demonstration: In their response video, your teacher doesn’t just tell you what to do differently—they show you. You’ll see and hear examples of what they’re suggesting.
Actionable Guidance: Every coaching response includes specific things you can practice immediately. Not vague advice, but concrete exercises and approaches.
Encouragement: Your teacher acknowledges what’s working well, not just what needs improvement. This balance keeps you motivated while still providing honest feedback.
Getting the Most from Your Coaching Videos
Best Practices for Video Submissions:
A few simple practices help your teacher provide the most useful feedback:
Audio and Video Quality:
Position yourself where your face and upper body are clearly visible. Natural room lighting works well—no special equipment needed. Record in a quiet space where your voice can be heard clearly over any background noise.
What to Include:
Record the full song or section you want feedback on. If you’re working on a specific passage, it helps to perform it a few times in the video so your teacher can see if issues are consistent or occasional.
Context and Questions:
Use the notes field when submitting to tell your teacher what you’re working on. “I’m struggling with breath support in the bridge” or “I want feedback on my emotional delivery” helps them focus their response on what matters most to you.
Camera Angle:
For performance coaching, position the camera as an audience would see you. For technique coaching, a closer view that shows your face, jaw, and throat area can be helpful.
Your teacher can work with any video you submit, but these practices maximize the value of each coaching session.

Coaching for Every Stage of Your Journey
Video Coaching serves singers at every level of development, from complete beginners to advanced performers preparing for professional work.
For Newer Singers:
If you’re just starting your vocal journey, coaching helps you build good habits from the beginning. Submit videos of exercises your teacher assigned to verify you’re practicing correctly. This early feedback prevents developing problematic patterns that would need correction later.
For Developing Singers:
As your skills grow, coaching becomes a tool for refining technique and expanding your repertoire. Submit songs you’re learning independently between lessons, get feedback on audition pieces, or check your progress on challenging sections before your next live lesson.
For Advanced Singers:
Experienced performers use coaching to polish performance details and maintain technique. Submit recordings from actual performances to get professional feedback on what worked and what to adjust. Many advanced students also use coaching when learning challenging new repertoire or preparing for important auditions or performances.
Regardless of your level, Video Coaching provides the same personalized attention Cardon Studios is known for. Your teacher adjusts their feedback to meet you where you are, offering guidance that matches your current abilities and pushes you toward your next goals.
