Founded in Washington, DC in 2010, Cardon Studios has built a reputation for excellence in voice instruction. From our local roots in the DC metro area, we continue to serve singers with the same personalized attention and expert teaching that made us the trusted choice for families throughout the region.
Our Story
Serving the Washington DC Community Since 2010
In 2010, Kate Cardon opened Cardon Studios in Northwest Washington, D.C. with a simple belief: every voice deserves personalized attention from teachers who genuinely care. What started as a small studio has grown into the DC area’s trusted voice education community but that founding belief hasn’t changed.
For over fifteen years, we’ve welcomed singers of all ages, styles, and skill levels. Some come to us dreaming of the stage. Others just want to sing confidently at karaoke or finally feel comfortable joining in at family gatherings. Many are busy professionals carving out time for something creative. All of them find teachers who meet them exactly where they are.
In 2020, we moved our lessons fully online and discovered something unexpected. Without the commute, we could serve students throughout the DC metro area and Eastern time zone more flexibly than ever. Our online format also made room for regular community events: Open Mic Nights, Group Classes, and Student Showcases that bring our singers together from across the region.
Today, Kate personally selects and trains every teacher on our team. That’s how we maintain the standard that DC-area families have trusted for over fifteen years: expert instruction, genuine encouragement, and the belief that your voice, whatever your goals, is worth developing.

Meet Our Founder: Kate Cardon
A versatile singer and communicator, Kate Cardon has spent over 15 years honing her teaching style and studying all styles of vocal music, from Classical and Broadway to Jazz, Pop, Rock, and R&B.
After completing her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, a degree largely focused on Classical and Operatic singing, Kate sought out and completed additional education in voice science and technical skills for contemporary and commercial styles of singing from respected institutions, including Westminster Choir College, Shenandoah Conservatory, and the Berklee School of Music.
Kate is also a certified practitioner of the Neuro-Vocal method, a voice methodology based on a modern understanding of brain science and motor learning, and also applies principles of the LoVetri Method: Somatic Voicework in her teaching.
Whether teaching a classroom of students or one-on-one private lessons, Kate connects with students where they are, assessing their needs and helping them reach their personal goals, small or large.
