Randy Martono-Chai


Randy MC is a multitalented Pianist-Singer, Music Director, Arranger, and Teacher. Randy earned his Dual-Bachelor of Music Degrees in Performance and Jazz Studies and became specialized in jazz, Western classical music, and musical theatre.

Throughout Randy’s life, his affinity to music has been embellished and imprinted across several genres. As a composer, Randy’s passion is making music that motivates, inspires, comforts, and spreads love and joy to all those that hear it. As an artist and performer, he enjoys taking his listeners on an emotional journey. As a teacher, Randy is driven to share a well-rounded experience of a variety of musical styles: from classical to jazz and everything in between.

As an active performer, Randy relates well to his students and their goals. Over the past decade, Randy MC has taken up various roles: Music Director in several iconic musicals (including Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Wedding Singer); pianist in the jazz/funk/Motown/dance band ‘Souled Out’; a classical singer, making his opera debut in the summer of 2019 as Monastatos in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Bethesda Summer Music Festival; and subsequently, a concert singer, making his Kennedy Center concert debut.
